Over 30 years, I have served the Bleeding Disorder Community in various positions. I serve as the Treasurer of the local chapter for two years in the early 1990’s and then as President for two years. I was elected as a National Hemophilia Foundation (NHF) Regional Director to the NHF Board of Directors and served as VP of Chapter Affairs for two years. I then serve as President of NHF Board of Directors for two years. In the early 2000’s I serve on the interim Board of Directors for NHF after the previous board voted to dissolve itself. I was elected to the NHF Board of Directors and served two terms as Vice Chairperson and then served three terms as Chairperson of the NHF Board of Directors. During this 30-year period I have also served on numerous committees and currently serve on two working groups for the National Bleeding Disorders Foundation (NBDF formerly NHF). The skills I bring to the Lone Star Bleeding Disorders Foundation (LSBDF) are an understanding of leadership and service to the community. I currently serve as the 2nd Vice President on the LSBDF Board of Directors; I am seeking your support to be the next President of the LSBDF. Raymond Stanhope 100.00% 2nd Vice President I have served on the Lone Star Bleeding Disorders Foundation (LSBDF) Board of Directors for the past 4 years. I have a history of von Willebrand’s Disease (vWD) and hemophilia in my family. Currently I serve as the Secretary on the LSBDF Board of Directors and as the Representative to Hemophilia Federation of America (HFA) Board of Directors for the LSBDF. I am bilingual and support the work of the foundation with the Spanish speaking community and I believe that the foundation should continue its outreach to the unengaged communities within the foundations' service area. I love meeting new people and sharing information about new therapies and the resources of the foundation with them. I am seeking your support in being the next 2nd Vice President on the LSBDF Board of Directors. Laura Portales 59.46% I have served on the Board of Directors of the Lone Star Bleeding Disorders Foundation (LSBDF) for 9 years. During this time, I have been the Treasurer and a Trustee for the foundation. I understand the challenges facing members of the bleeding disorders community because I and other members of my family live with hemophilia. I believe in the mission of the Lone Star Bleeding Disorders Foundation, and I actively attend as many events as possible related to the bleeding disorders community. I believe in connecting with others and sharing my story. I am a vocal advocate that wants to help others to gain the skills necessary to live a full life. I am seeking your support to be the next 2nd Vice President on the LSBDF Board of Directors. Aaron Gonzalez 40.54% Trustee I am the mother of an adult daughter who was diagnosed with a bleeding disorder at age 13. I have not been engaged with the Lone Star Bleeding Disorders Foundation in the past, but I am eager to learn more about the bleeding disorders community. I do have experience serving on a local hospital’s Volunteer Auxiliary’s board of directors in leadership positions and have a working knowledge of Robert’s Rules of Order. I enjoy working to solve problems in service to a community, I consider myself to be hard working, organized and working well with others. I agree to meet the attendance and fundraising requirements to serve on the Lone Star Bleeding Disorders Board of Directors as a Trustee.
